How did you spend Heritage Day?
It was a last minute decision to take a drive to New Ross this weekend and spend some time at Ross Farm Museum. Growing up, there were many class trips to this historic location, but it has been awhile and it was nice to take a stroll through history again. The last time we had visited our oldest was still in a stroller, so to see the boys experience Ross Farm for the first time was a lot of fun. The sleigh ride was the highlight and prompted a ‘Jingle Bells’ serenade from our youngest on the way home. The hot chocolate and homemade ice cream was pretty great too.
There wasn’t a lot of discussion around the historic figure in the spotlight for this year’s “Heritage Day”, so you might have missed it. This year William Hall was the Heritage Day Honoree for Nova Scotia.
2024 Honouree: William Hall
I know some folks used this long weekend as a celebration of family, like our sister province of New Brunswick does with this February holiday, “Family Day”. However you spent the weekend, I hope you had some fun and got enough relaxation to carry you through to Good Friday, our next day off, March 29th.
