It’s Fire Prevention Week and this year the focus is on cooking safety. I know what you are thinking, this is so simple and common sense … but the kitchen is the most common place for fires to start.
Cooking Safety Starts With YOU
You might know what to do, but when there are flames coming from the stove and smoke is filling the room, will you be able to keep your cool? How many of you would see a flame and reach for water to put it out? Very common and VERY DANGEROUS!
I speak from experience, not from a kitchen, but from a camping trip. Trying to get the fire going with fuel and it got a bit out of control. Without thinking, water was thrown on the blaze which worsened the situation.
