I always assumed it was because it is easier to find a kind and friendly rabbit since most chickens are a bit cranky, but that is not the case at all. Easter is the one time of the year we have purchased eggs in our house since my wife likes white eggs for colouring and I only have brown layers.
So what is the best way to add colour to hen fruit?
We have always used food colouring in water with a little bit of vinegar, and yes it does work on brown eggs too, haha. I tried the shaving cream and food colouring method last year, but it didn’t work great and you can’t eat eggs coloured that way either.
