South Shore residents who enjoy Starbucks will no longer have to travel to Halifax to satisfy their cravings with news that plans are underway to open a new location in Bridgewater.
Very little is known about the project at this point, with the only information coming from a job posting. The Bridgewater Superstore posted a list of positions they are actively hiring for and in addition to many positions at the grocery store they are also hiring “Starbucks operators”, indicating their plans to open a location in the store.
Grocery stores have become a popular location for the Seattle-based Coffee franchise in recent years with Nova Scotia currently having five locations inside various grocers.
In general, Starbucks that open inside locations like malls or grocery stores are operated as franchises, whereas the stand-alone operations are usually corporate entities.
Once opened the Bridgewater location will be the first of the 32 Nova Scotia locations on the South Shore.
We have reached out to the Starbucks and Atlantic Superstore Media Relations Teams for comment but did not hear back by the time of publishing.
