Green Party Candidate Eric Wade is running in the riding of Lunenburg West.
Wade said he decided to enter politics following a conversation with his father in which they discussed many issues in Nova Scotia.
He explained that the conversation concluded with him deciding that rather than complaining about the issues being faced by the province, it was time to do something about them.
Since then, Wade has made an unsuccessful run at a council seat in Bridgewater but, he said after that he realized the issues he’s most passionate about, such as housing, health care and the environment, fall more under the purview of provincial and federal governments.
He said the most pressing concerns he has heard from his constituent’s revolve around healthcare and housing.
Wade hopes to claim a seat for the greens so they can intact policies that offer holistic solutions to the health care and housing issue through the lens of a party that puts the environment first.
He adds he sees the environmental crisis as the biggest issue people aren’t paying attention to and he see the Greens as the only ones proposing viable solutions.
Wade is running against PC candidate Becky Druhan, NDP Merydie Ross and Liberal candidate Jennifer Naugler in the riding of Lunenburg West.
