Hopeful swimmers will have to wait a little longer to take a dip at the O’Regan’s Subaru Outdoor Pool in Bridgewater.
After filling the pool on Sunday, town rec workers discovered a mechanical issue with the pools pump system which prevented them from circulating the water.
Diana Johnson, recreation coordinator, said they had hoped to open the pool Monday but were forced to delay the opening once again, a common occurrence for this year’s season.
“We’ve had some extensive improvements to the pool, which the weather has obviously delayed over the last couple of months, which put us behind,” she said.
“The pool was finished last week, and filling took a couple of days. On Sunday, when we had the water in, we were hopeful, yet we hit another setback, but I think were looking forward to everything going smoothly from here on out.”
She said a small issue with the pool’s pumps caused for the opening to be pushed back, but a new part was picked up to fix the pump, which should be good to go later today.
As for when the pool will open, Johnson said nothing is concrete, but they are hoping to open Tuesday.
