Officials in the Town of Shelburne are optomistic for the future of the Yarmouth ferry service.
Economic Development Officer Jerry Locke says there was a noticeable increase in American tourists in the area last summer and he credits the ferry.
Now he says, using new signs, the town wants to make sure tourists this summer know how to find all the highlights of the community.
He says: “We’re soon going to go to tender on it and once we get some things worked out on specifications for enticement signage and welcoming signage, they will be located as you come into town from exit 26.”
Locke hopes the signs are in place in time for the new ferry season.
It begins June 1st and runs until October 13th.
