A tender to design the new Guild Hall in Shelburne is open.
Federal funding was announced in July to rebuild the structure, which was used for the film, The Scarlet Letter.
Mayor Karen Mattatall says the current building was not meant to be long-term.
“Unfortunately, it has reached the end of its life, in terms of safety and ability to broaden its use.”
Bids must be received by January 7.
Demolition is expected to happen before the end of March with a new building in place by the summer.
It will be used for festivals, concerts and the Shelburne Farmer’s Market.
