Bookworms will be taking over the Town of Lunenburg this weekend.
The third annual Lunenburg Lit festival kicks off tonight with an appearance by podcasting duo Taggart and Torrens.
While it may seem an odd pairing for a literary festival, the duo are promoting their recently release book.
Jeff Mercer with South Shore Public Libraries is excited to expose people to a different medium.
“It’s a new way that people are listening to things literature-wise and otherwise. We want to tap into that and provide that opportunity.”
In addition to the podcasters, several celebrated authors will be present at events held throughout the weekend.
Mercer says the event continues to grow.
“It’s getting stronger every year. People are looking forward to it, they’re getting excited and we’re happy to make it bigger and better every year.”
Mercer says the line up includes local authors Peter Barss, Senator Wilfred Moore and Lezlie Lowe.
