A pipe burst in the attic of a residence at Bay Side Home around 3am Sunday.
Ten residents of the seniors facility were relocated to other parts of the building as a result.
Administrator Paula Hatfield says contractors arrived on scene Monday.
“They are bringing in machinery to dry out the area. There is a lot of water damage in the attic, so all the insulation needs to be removed.”
Hatfield says they are hoping to have the displaced seniors back in their residence by the new year.
“Everybody has been set up in a safe area of the home. We’re making sure that they feel safe and secure and well looked after, which they always have been. Their services will remain the same.”
She says staff were also quick to help, some coming in an hour after the water break to help clean.
