Queens General Hospital has recently installed two new pieces of equipment to enhance heart care for local residents.
The new $275,000 echocardiogram machine and $93,000 Cardio Testing Cart will allow doctors to perform heart function tests and diagnose conditions like shortness of breath and chest pain directly at the hospital.
Funding for the new machines was made possible thanks to donations from the Queens General Hospital Foundation.
This new equipment will be used in the hospital’s clinics, improving care and accessibility for residents of Queens County. Before these machines were introduced, patients had to travel to Bridgewater or even Halifax for similar testing, making the process more convenient for them now.
These upgrades mark a significant step in bringing specialized healthcare closer to home for the community.
