There will be a partial lunar eclipse tonight.
Here is the timeline from timeanddate.com:
- 11:12pm: Partial moon eclipse starts – moon is getting red.
- 11:44pm: Eclipse Moon is closest to the center of the shadow.
- 12:15am: Partial Eclipse ends.
When it comes to the percentage of obscuration. It will be a tiny little “bite” out of the moon.
The red on the top of the moon in the image below shows the “bite” size.
That is not to say that the moon won’t be an impressive sight, it is also a Harvest Supermoon which appears larger and brighter than normal because it’s at the closest point to Earth during its orbit, making the moon look bigger than usual.
