It was a big success in the USA last year and starting today you can enjoy the purple creation in Canada.
McDonald’s has launched the “Grimace Shake” for a limited time just in time for this week’s warm weather.

Grimace is an interesting character. Turning 53 this June, he is not just a big purple blob, but actually a taste bud. Would only make sense that a taste bud would be excited about a treat with soft serve and blueberry syrup.
Now when I think purple summer treats there are two things that come to mind. The jumbo Mr. Freeze, plastic tubes of frozen sweetness, AND “Moon Mist” ice cream. Believed to have been created in Nova Scotia in the 1960s, the ice cream is an unusual combination of banana, grape and bubble gum flavours This favorite is a great topper for any ice cream cone.
Moon Mist – The Nova Scotia ice cream flavor
The moon mist flavour seems to be creating a bit of a buzz this season with local breweries offering a non-alcoholic fancy water version and a seltzer that tastes like the East Coast summer treat.
A Google search of “moon mist drinks nova scotia” will bring up lots of options
