I know you probably just finished up the last of the Christmas goodies that survived the holidays.  AND those of you trying to hang on to that New Year’s resolution about eating fewer sweets are not wanting to talk about this topic.  But, let’s look at store bought cookies.  Today is Fig Newton Day and I have to say, they always seemed like a healthy cookie choice, haha.  I remember my grandparents usually had a package laying around.  I am sure you have had one before and when I think of Fig Newtons, there is a scene from Talladega Nights that comes to mind, haha.  (Ricky Bobby Fig Newton Sticker)

This is probably a good day to look at the best cookies.  Now I better specify Store Bought cookies because we all know the one made at home with added love can’t be beat.
The list of the best cookies for sale in Canada doesn’t mention the ones in the blue box that will be sold this spring.  I would argue that the vanilla Girl Guide cookies deserve a spot on the top 10, but that is just my opinion.

I also stumbled on a recipe for Fig Newtons cookies.  YES, you can make them at home!
My grandmother used to make something similar and they were tasty.  Cookies filled with a date square filling, yummy.
