Three museums in Queens will receive an investment of $13,000 from the provincial government.
-
Queens County Historical Society, $10,000
-
Milton Heritage Society, $1,500
-
North Queens Heritage Society, $1,500
It’s the first increase in funding museums have received in more than 15 years.
“Our communities are enhanced when historical societies are thriving,” said MLA Masland. “With this support from our government, we can help ensure that our heritage and customs are celebrated by future generations.”
The provincial government is also investing in an artistic hub in the heart of Chester.
The Chester Art Centre Association will get a $5,000 investment toward a gallery enhancement plan.
“Our residents require spaces where creativity can flourish and be appreciated,” said Chester-St. Margaret’s MLA Danielle Barkhouse. “Thanks to our government, this enhancement means the Chester Art Centre will shine brighter and attract more art enthusiasts.”
The government says the investment reflects its dedication to nurturing arts while bolstering venues that celebrates local talent and tradition.
