Canada’s most well-known UFO sighting is being celebrated.
The Shag Harbour UFO XPO starts today in Yarmouth and runs until Sunday.
In October 1967, witnesses saw a UFO go into the water in the area, the case was never solved.
Organizer Danny Reid says there’s lots of interest, and attendance should double last year.
“This year we’re expecting about 200 people. there’s been lots of enthusiasm and lots of talk. We may get more that can come and buy tickets for the conference,” said Reid.
There will be a meet-and-greet tonight, with the full conference happening tomorrow at the Rodd Grand Hotel.
“We’ll have Travis Walton, who the movie ‘Fire in the Sky’ is based on coming, and we’ll have Nick Pope, who starts on the History Channel’s ‘Ancient Aliens’ TV show.”
A bus-tour to the crash site happens Sunday.
It’s the second annual full-festival.
