The Town of Bridgewater will be seeking public feedback on proposed zoning plans for the land near the new exit that is currently under construction on Highway 103.
The first meeting will focus on the narrow strip of land nearest the highway, which is in close proximity to the existing Bridgewater Industrial Park.
Nick Brown, Manager of Planning & Development Services for Bridgewater says the town wants to hear from the public so they can zone the area appropriately for the desires of residents. “It’s very much up for debate and we are still in the early stages so the proposed map we are presenting tonight is very conceptual and subject to change,” Brown said.
The town’s proposal map suggests designating the area of land nearest the highway as C9 (Highway Commercial), which allows for businesses that capitalize on the access and visibility the nearby highway will provide. Businesses like hotels, drive-thrus, and car dealerships are some of the examples that the designation allows.
The meeting scheduled for March 2 will only be allowing members of the public to attend virtually. If you wish to attend you need to register ahead of time contact the Community Development Department at 902-543-2274 or kayla.byrne@bridgewater.ca.
