The Town of Shelburne has declared tomorrow as ‘Pay It Forward’ Day.
It’s in memory of five year old Carmen Huskilson, who passed away on January 12th, 2016.
Shortly after her passing, her parents Andrew and Jennie Huskilson encouraged citizens to pay it forward in her memory.
Shelburne Mayor Harold Locke says that legacy continues.
“You can visit someone that might need a friend, buy someone’s coffee, cook them supper, send a friend a message, hold the door, buy flowers, or send a donation to a charity in their name,” says Locke.
He reminds citizens to pay it forward not just on this day, but everyday.
“It’s important, especially during these times. It’s been a rough few years in the pandemic. Any day you can pay it forward is a good day, and it doesn’t have to be anything big.”
Locke says random acts of kindness can go a long way.
