Hoping for more hugs this holiday season?
Pollster Leger says Atlantic Canadians are split on their social distancing plans for the holidays.
The survey has found 44 per cent of us intend to bring back the handshake and give loved ones a hug or kiss this Christmas.
The pollster looked at the same trend across the nation.
Nearly half of Canadians, 45 per cent, will bid farewell to social distancing when greeting their loved ones.
Fifty per cent of Americans plan to do the same.
Cautious approach to holiday celebrations
Atlantic Canadians aren’t likely to go all out for their holiday celebrations this year.
The majority, 79 per cent, plan to respect all public health measures when gathering over Christmas.
Half will ask their relatives and friends if they’re vaccinated or to provide proof they’re double-vaxxed before getting together.
It’s the same when it comes to celebrations, half do not intend to celebrate anymore than last year despite fewer pandemic restrictions.
Holiday spending plans are also holding steady when compared to 2020.
50 per cent will spend the same amount as last year.
