The PC’s made a clean sweep on the South Shore in the 41st provincial election winning 5 out of 5 of our local ridings.
Becky Druhan has claimed the riding of Lunenburg West by a margin of 868 votes, her closest competition was Liberal Jennifer Naugler who received 3,197 votes.
Druhan believes that Nova Scotia is ready for a change
“I think as we have heard on the doorstep, we really need improvements in health care and I think that really resonated with Nova Scotians,” said Druhan “In that way, it wasn’t surprising to me because it really reflected the degree of support I was getting having those conversations with people.”
Druhan said that the PC’s plan to quickly begin work to improve the provinces healthcare system but added that the overall change won’t happen overnight.
“I think we will start to see some changes soon, but the overall change that we want to see for everyone throughout the system is going to take some time.” explained Druhan.
In the other four ridings, Susan Corkum-Greek unseated incumbent Suzanne Lohnes-Croft in Lunenburg, PC Nolan Young picked up the win in Shelburne, Kim Masland reclaimed her seat in the newly named riding of Queens, and PC Danielle Barkhouse claimed the victory in Chester-St Margaret’s.
