A Bike Day event is being held by the Town of Mahone Bay in partnership with the MODL and Bike Nova Scotia
Mahone Bay Climate and Energy Program Director, Katherine Dorey says they hope to hear from residents about what upgrades they would like to see to better facilitate biking in the town.
“Bicycle Nova Scotia is great because they did the Blue Route project which shows a proposed route through town,” said Dorey “That’s part of the engagement process we want to get feedback on.”
Dorey explained that the event starts at Jubilee Park at 9:30a.m. on August 14th with a safety talk, followed by a group bike ride through town at 10a.m.
“There’s two proposed loops to go through” said Dorey. “People can choose to do the whole nine to ten kilometers, or if they just want to do half of it they can stop back at the Jubilee Park.”
She added that information tables will be set up with an opportunity for those involved to try out e-bikes.
Dorey said participants can sign up for the ride online or in person on the day of the event.
The rain date for the Bike Day event is August 21st.
