The Chief Medical Officer of Health is repeating his message to residents: use common sense.
Dr. Robert Strang said now is the time to err on the side of caution.
Dr. Strang said it’s fundamentally important to follow public health rules.
“If you have to ask yourself if you can or you should, the answer is probably no. Don’t do that or don’t go there, do not look for loopholes,” he said. “We all have to be working together, and there’s no room for one person to say, ‘well, I can be relaxed.’”
Dr. Strang said you should stay home, or go outside, away from others with your small family group, and stay safe.
He gave little new information at the Thursday COVID-19 briefing.
“The point of today is to make sure that, if any Nova Scotians don’t understand the severity of the situation, that we have put things in place, but now it’s up to all Nova Scotians to do what they need to do,” he says. “Every single person has to take it seriously.”
Dr. Strang and Premier Iain Rankin promised a major update on vaccines Friday.
Rankin also said help is coming for businesses, but didn’t give details.
