Fire damaged a home in Shelburne County yesterday.
Firefighters responded to the residence on Ohio Road early yesterday afternoon.
A woman, the lone occupant, escaped with no injuries.
Shelburne Fire Chief Darrell Locke says there was heavy smoke when firefighers arrived at the three-storey building.
“We attacked the fire and actually got pushed out at one point. We had to switch to defensive mode for a while, but we were able to get back in.”
Locke says fire severely burned the second and third floors of the home.
In addition to the Shelburne department, the Middle and Upper Ohio, Jordan and CGC departments also responded.
