Firefighters were busy yesterday as four forest fires burned throughout Queens County.
11 departments from Queens, Lunenburg and Annapolis Counties were called in to deal with three blazes that were spotted by helicopter.
Fire crews and Lands and Forestry workers were able to control two of the three fires, one near Whiteburn Mines and another in Greenfield near the mill quite quickly.
However a third larger fire near Lake Rossignol was fueled by the gusting winds yesterday evening, and created a fourth fire nearby.
Fire crews and forestry workers were back on scene near Lake Rossignol to help keep the fire under control.
A cause for the fires have not been identified as of yet.
