Porch Pirate: Noun. porch pirate (plural porch pirates) (slang) A criminal that steals a package from a porch.
With the popularity of online shopping or just getting things delivered to your house, more and more packages are being dropped off every day. Unfortunately, we live in a world with awful people who steal things. Package theft is becoming a very common occurrence in our world. Sometimes, packages are just left at your doorstep by the delivery person if you’re not home (I will say, with expensive items, anytime I wasn’t home, the delivery company has left a note to pick it up).
One engineer has made it his mission to give some karma to porch pirates after he had a package stolen from him a few years ago. Mark Rober has invented the “Glitter Bomb Trap”. This former engineer for NASA has made this device for people who like to take things that does not belong to them. The trap is placed in an ordinary box, but when the porch pirate opens it after they take it….they’ll be sprayed with glitter and an awful fart smell. Check out the latest video he just released!
