Residents of Barrington can have their say on a potential new recreation centre on Sherose Island.
The municipality will host a community engagement session next month.
The current centre is over 50 years old and in poor condition.
CAO Chris Frotten says they want to hear from the public.
“We’ve never had a dedicated community engagement session solely for that project”, says Frotten. “We felt it was important to get the public input only on that project, specifically, for the design and the needs of the community.”
A new centre hasn’t been approved but preliminary discussions have been held on what to do with the aging building.
The public forum will be held March 7 at 6:30pm at the Barrington Municipal Recreation Centre.
