Efforts to bring a splash pad to Lunenburg County received a push over the weekend.
Members of the Pine Grove Outdoor Play Association raised over $1,800 at their Walk/Run fundraiser over the weekend.
That puts the groups total at just shy of $24,000 towards the $70,000 needed to build the splash pad in Pine Grove.
Association Chair Stephanie Mailman Crouse says the pad would make a great addition to the existing park.
“I think that the splash pad would really bring individuals to the area in the summer, especialy after the hot temperatures we’ve had this summer.”
Mailman-Crouse says the group will be approaching government for funding as well.
And they’re working to have the splash pad in place for next summer.
