Bridgewater’s beautification is being nationally recognized.
The town, in partnership with Ekistics Planning & Design have been honoured with the 2018 Canadian Society of Landscape Architects Award of Excellence for the Pijinuiskaq Park/King Street project.
The park design falls into the category of Small Scale Public Landscapes Designed by a Landscape Architect.
Bridgewater CAO Richard MacLellan says the park is a jewel in the centre of the town.
“It’s a great place to be, it’s a great place to visit and it should really help us with our rejuvenation of King Street.”
MacLellan says the award recognizes the efforts being made to improve life in Bridgewater and allows people to reconnect with the waterfront and with nature.
“It will help people look at King Street as a place to set up their business and a place to go to do business and a place to visit.”
MacLellan says an award like this also helps when it comes time to ask for funding for other projects from different levels of government.
