There is plenty of love for new tennis courts in Mahone Bay.
Three levels of government along with private donors helped contribute over $90,000 to see the original three courts of 33 years get refurbished.
The new blue hard court surface makes the tennis ball easier to see for players and spectators.
Lynn Cash has been playing tennis for nearly 30 years and supports the new improvements.
“They look amazing because before there were huge cracks and bumps and puddles. Now it can rain and you can play almost as soon as it is finished raining. It’s wonderful.”
The 94 year-old says she still has passion for the sport.
“It gets me off my back side and moving and that’s a challenge because I’m inherently lazy. It keeps me moving and trying to improve.”
The Mahone Bay Tennis Club was developed in 1984.
