A co-owner of South Shore Veterinary Services in Wileville says she’s blown away by the new dog park in Bridgewater.
Melanie Colwell says it was well worth the wait for the park to open.
The South Shore Vet Dog Zone opened on July 6 but was first identified in the town’s master plan for Generations Active Park in 2011.
Colwell says it made sense for them to get involved.
“We’re a veterinary service, so, our clients and patients are dogs, probably the majority and there is a need for it. We’re constantly hearing, ‘Is there any dog park here?’”
The park will be known as the South Shore Vet Dog Zone for 10 years after South Shore Veterinary Services contributed $10,000 to the project.
“We really just want to be a part of the community; the community that our clients live in, that our patients have fun in, and that our staff live in. It’s a critical component for us.”
