A state of emergency has been issued in British Columbia after hundreds of wildfires have destroyed buildings and forced people from their homes.
Firefighters are fighting roughly 200 fires across the province.
Approximately 7000 people have been displaced from their homes.
The dry conditions could make battling the wildfires more difficult.
In a statement, Ralph Goodale, Canada’s Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness says the Government Operations Centre is coordinating their response with the province and the armed forces.
The Canadian Red Cross is offering assistance to the region as urgent support is needed for the families there.
Thinking of those affected by the wildfires in Yukon & BC. Stay safe – we’re monitoring the situations and are ready to provide assistance.
