A friendly competition between three Lunenburg County municipal units wraps up today.
The Municipality of Chester, Municipality of Lunenburg along with the Town of Bridgewater are involved in a food bank challenge.
Non-perishable food donations and cash have been collected since late November.
Bridgewater Mayor David Mitchell says it’s not about winning or losing.
“If every municipality would have a competition for bragging rights and the outcome was that every food bank in the province was full of food than I’m all for doing that because the need has never been greater.”
Mitchell says he expects the results to be known by Monday.
The donations will be given to local area food banks.
