The first of two vessels being dismantled in Queens County is set to arrive tomorrow.
The HMCS Protecteur is expected arrive at the Port Mersey Commercial Park by noon.
The almost 50 year old ship was damaged by an engine room fire two years ago.
It’s made it’s way here, 7,600 nautical miles from B.C.
Antigonish based construction company R.J. MacIsaac won the contract to dismantle the ships with a $39-million bid in November.
The work expected to take about two years and employ 50 full-time workers.
