A ceremony in Barrington will recognize a long-time volunteer.
Sandy Wickens was part of the baseball and hockey community for roughly 40 years.
He passed away in June at age 78.
Warden Eddie Nickerson says the Barrington Arena will be named after Wickens.
“A very well liked man and a well-deserved renaming of the arena in honour of him.”
A plaque and framed jacket will also be unveiled.
The ceremony will be held Saturday at 11 a.m at the arena.
