Shelburne town council had a lengthy discussion about sidewalks at its meeting Wednesday night.
Specifically, crosswalk flags.
Mayor Karen Mattatall says they’re trying to do everything they can to improve pedestrian safety and part of that has been the installation of the bright orange flags.
“We’ll be putting out a survey to ask people which crosswalks they think may require the crosswalk flags. They are an attention-getter and they do catch your eye when you’re driving along.”
She says not everyone on council agrees how many flags should be in place.
The flags are installed in tubes on each end of a sidewalk.
