55-plus Games Descend on the South Shore

Hundreds of people have flocked to the South Shore for the next few days.

That's because the 55-plus games begin tomorrow.

Co-chair, Carroll Randall says everything is ready to go.

"It's an exciting time. We're looking forward to hosting everybody here in the next three days," says Randall.

Randall says planning for the games began in 2015.

He isn't sure what the economic impact will be, but is sure it will be significant.

"We're bringing 800-1000 people here for 3 days. They're going to stay in hotels, eat and shop. I'm hoping it'll be hundreds of thousands of dollars," says Randall.

The games begin tomorrow evening after a healthy senior health fair and will go until Saturday.

Members of the public are encouraged to watch events.
