A fundraiser to help buy necessary equipment at Queens General Hospital has collected roughly $20,000.
The Hospital Hustle was held over the weekend at the Liverpool Curling Club.
The event raised money through a giant yard sale, silent and live auction and general admission.
Co-Chair Shelly Neilsen says people played a big role in supporting the cause.
"The people were lined right to the road and around the corner. I'm sure they were down past the Astor Theatre because they just kept coming and coming and coming. It was crazy."
Money raised will go towards purchasing a portable ultrasound machine which costs approximately $75,000.
"Not a cheap piece of equipment but something they desperately need," says Neilsen.
Monetary donations are still being accepted.
A fundraiser will also be held Saturday night during the Liverpool Privateers hockey game at Queens Place Emera Centre.
