Lunenburg Town Council will be sitting down with residents tomorrow.
At least twice a year, the mayor and council set up at local businesses to hear resident’s concerns.
Mayor Rachel Bailey says these Town Talks are part of an effort to keep council accessible.
“We’re always open to criticism or to constructive suggestions of how we may be able to do things better. But we really would love to hear what is important to people and what they think we should be focusing our attention on.”
Bailey looks forward to these Town Talks.
“We wanted to make sure people knew they could have our ear and our attention outside of town hall. And we wanted to do it in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.”
The mayor says conversations cover everything from snow removal to streetlights or simply answering questions about decisions council has made.
Bailey says she takes vigorous notes from all her discussions and takes those back to staff and council.
She says sometimes people are just looking for answers but sometimes a resident will plant the seed of a new idea.
The sessions will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the following times and locations:
9:00-11:00am The Dockside, 84 Montague Street
1:30-3:00pm The Savvy Sailor, 100 Montague Street
