The South Shore continues to be awesome thanks in part to the Awesome Foundation.
Each month the foundation receives pitches from people who need funding for an idea.
Awesome foundation members vote on which idea they feel is the most awesome and award that person $1,000.
Awesome Trustee Andrew Button was at the Bluenose Wellness Centre in Lunenburg on Wednesday to award the money to Lynnette Curtis for a bees wax food wrap.
“She needed the thousand bucks to buy the organic cotton that she needs as a part of the base product for it. So she got that thousand dollars that night and pressed send on that order for organic cotton on Wednesday night.”
Button says the money can have an immediate impact.
“This thousand dollars allows her to make enough product and start going to some of the other markets around. So you’ll see her likely at the Lunenburg Market, the Bridgewater Market, the Hubbards Market – she’ll be around.”
If you have an awesome idea that deserves a thousand dollars, you can find a link to pitch it here.
