Rock the Bush has set up a Go Fund Me campaign to help cover the cost of this year’s festival.
Festival Organizer Jonathan Crouse says they use profits from the festival to donate to charities, but the torrential downpours that weekend kept most people away.
“Generally Saturday, your population, that’s your big draw – where people come for one day, so instead of having 300 or 400 people come in, we had three.”
“When you do the math for that it make for a pretty dismal financial state.”
The festival took a financial hit this year because of weather on the Saturday of the festival, keeping most people away, and so they set a goal of $5,000.
After a few days they’ve already reached the $1,000 mark.
The festival donates proceeds to local organizations like 4-H Club and the South South Regional Hospital, but Crouse said this they were barely able to cover their own bills.
They’ve set up the page to help compensate for the loss.
“We didn’t want to go that route, but we didn’t feel we had a lot of other options,” he said.
“But thankfully the Bush Rockers stepped forward and things are looking pretty positive.
