If you live in Bridgewater or visited the town over the last week, you may have noticed six giant snowmen greeting you at different locations.
They’re not just ordinary snowmen, but made from bales of hay.
However, the snowmen have been the brunt of public comment after one of them was knocked down beside Veterans Memorial Bridge.
Many people took to social media to lash out at youth or excuse the matter because they feel there is nothing to do in Bridgewater.
Mayor David Mitchell says people need to change the way they think.
“It’s too easy to say ‘there is nothing to do, therefore that’s why these things are happening.’ As I said, that’s not a factual statement, there is stuff to do and secondly it’s never an excuse to topple over a snowman.”
“We’re very quick to complain and not offer any solutions,” Mitchell says. “And the time is now to change that.”
He says people can address their concerns by speaking to him or other members of town council.
