A 57-year-old man accused of stabbing another man in Lunenburg earlier this week will remain in custody until at least January 4.
Thomas Alvin Selig was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault after police responded to a report of a man seriously injured lying on the sidewalk Tuesday afternoon.
The judge was expected to hear arguments about whether Selig should be released pending a trial or should remain in custody.
However the defense asked the bail hearing be moved to the new year.
Selig will remain at a facility in Dartmouth until then.
The victim was flown to a Halifax hospital where he remains in serious condition.
