Students at Lunenburg’s Bluenose Academy will be taking classes outside with help from the Awesome Foundation.
A group led by teacher Kajtek Jaskowiak were this month’s winners of $1,000 from the foundation.
The money will go towards putting a metal roof on the outdoor classroom they’re building.
Jaskowiak says if the rest of the grants they’ve applied for come through, the classroom could be in place quite quickly.
“The project itself is estimated to be built in four days. So as soon as we get some of that funding together, it could be potentially as early as this fall, and if not, it will be first thing in the spring.”
